Image Difference

Compares two image files like version control does and outputs a JSON report. Reports metadata for each image (dimensions, format, color type, channels, bit depth, ICC profile presence, file size, modified time), a metadata diff, and pixel-level difference statistics (count and percentage of changed pixels, per-channel mean/max absolute difference, and overall RMSE). Pixel comparison requires matching dimensions; if the sizes differ it is skipped while all metadata is still reported. Pixel statistics are computed over 8-bit RGBA, so sub-8-bit differences in 16-bit/HDR sources are not detected (the source bit depth is still reported in metadata). ICC/colorspace is best-effort: presence and byte size only, not a parsed colorspace name.
